The draw
with Everton in midweek makes the task of catching Manchester United look an
almost impossible task now for Chelsea. If they were to drop any points from
this away match to West Ham then surely their title challenge will be over.
This won’t
be an easy game for Chelsea and we’re surprised that they are as short as 4/5
(888Sport). Amazingly enough Chelsea have only beaten one team currently in the
top nine away from home this season. That win was at Aston Villa where they won
1-0, but they have drawn at Everton and Fulham and lost to Liverpool,
Manchester United and Spurs on their travels. The price on offer doesn’t look
brilliant value to us and with West Ham only losing one of their last six home
matches, a result the away win for Chelsea won’t be a result that we’ll be
taking.
West ham
don’t have the best of records against Chelsea, but they are playing a whole
lot better this season than they have over the last few years and we fancy them
to take something from the game. At 4/1 (Betfred) they look a little overpriced
and could be worth backing.
The Hammers
have already drawn with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this season and have shown
enough in recent home games to make you believe they can limit the opportunities
Chelsea will have during the game. We think this will be a low scoring affair
and we’re tipping the under 2.5 goals bet at 7/9 (Betfair).
With goals
likely to be at a premium we’re going for a half time/full time result of
Draw/Draw at 18/5 (Partybets)
Our
prediction for this match is a draw 12/5 (Paddy Power). We’re also recommending
a small stake on the 1-1 correct score at 13/2 (Bluesq).
The first
goalscorer bet we like in this match is David Di Michele at 9/1 (Partybets).
